Forgive Me

I am not quite sure how my message should be worded but I hope it's understood, 
I swear to God I tried my love but it didn't do any good. 
We were meant to be together nothing else is true 
but I was given a chance to live but instead I chose you. 
I knew that I would die for you if ever it were needed, 
they said one of us had to go and their warning I heeded. 
I love you more than time can say and even though I've gone away, 
I'll be with you each and everyday. 
Though we part in this life one day we'll be reunited, 
I wait for you in the sky for our passion to again be ignited.
