Play Acting
The person you love me for being, the caring, generous goof who loves the world,
is merely a character with no wrath to unfurl.
Each has their own opinion of who I am therefore I play act that part, man.
No one will ever know what truth is my soul and that's the way it should be,
play acting's easy if you know how so I'll be who you want to see.
I'll play crazy, kind or cruel, it all fits my talent,
I'll play the savior or the fool, I'll be the hero oh so gallant.
I give what you people need I don't consider it lies,
no one wants to see the truth trapped within my eyes.
